When I made the decision to move forward with having my own birth child, my RE's office had requirements to be completed prior to moving forward with the procedure. The requirements included: psychological evaluation, high risk pregnancy evaluation, blood work, HSG test, and Saline Ultrasound. I also had to have surgery to remove a uterine defect. Below are my blog entries related to each step of the Pre-Testing process, before I could move forward with IUI's.
2014
- 11/3/14: Deciding to "take the leap" and pursue TTC. Pursing Plan B.
- 11/14/14: First Meeting with RE
- 12/8/15: Psychological Evaluation.
- 12/17/15: High Risk Pregnancy Evaluation.
- 12/30/14: Testing - First Ultrasound to check follicle reserve and Blood Work.
2015
- 1/7/15: Testing - Saline Ultrasound - found a uterine defect (fibroid or polyp).
- 1/8/15: Testing - HSG Dye Test - Fallopian Tubes are "open".
- 1/21/15: Test Results Discussion with RE.
- 2/5/15: Ordered 4 vials of Donor Sperm (Donor #1). My thoughts on choosing a sperm donor.
- 2/12/15: Hysteroscopy to remove uterine defect - which ended up being a Polyp.
- 2/25/15: Post-Opp Discussion and first Cycle IUI "Plan".
- 3/18/15: Period did not come, took Provera for 10 days.
